On 6th & 7th September 2021, Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) successfully accommodates M\/v Cosco Shipping Aquarius \u2013 OOCL\u2019s largest container vessel to ever berth in Vietnam. Cosco Shipping Aquarius 197,049 DWT equivalent to 20,119 TEUs is deployed by OOCL (Orient Overseas Container Line) shipping line, connecting Vietnam with North America. The vessel calls CMIT for handling nearly 2,500 containers equivalent to 4,500 TEUs of import, export and transshipment cargo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Being one of the market leaders in the Cai Mep deep-water port complex and always a pioneer to accommodate big sized container vessels since the very first day of operations, CMIT now is the only terminal in Vietnam to obtain permission from Ministry of Transport and Vietnam Maritime Administration accommodate mega container ships up to 214,121 DWT. This call of M\/v COSCO SHIPPING AQUARIUS 197,049 DWT \/ 20,119 TEU deployed by one of the largest shipping lines OOCL continues to demonstrate achievement from such great support of Government towards development of CMIT in particular and Cai Mep port cluster in general.<\/p>\n

In the context of complicated covid-19 spread and its impact on business units in the south of Vietnam including operations of terminals, being trusted by our valued customer OOCL to accommodate this call is great encouragement for CMIT to continue our efforts in fulfilling the double targets of ensuring smooth flow of supply chain and fighting against the pandemic successfully.<\/p>\n
