Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) was delighted to welcome the ESL KABIR vessel, the inaugural call of the VGI/RGA/VGX/SGS service jointly operated by ESL, KMTC, RCL, CU Lines, and GFS, establishing a vital connection between Vietnam with Southeast Asia and the Middle East Market. CMIT demonstrated an impressive average crane productivity of nearly 34 containers per hour, ensuring the safe handling of nearly 1,300 TEUs of cargo and the timely departure of the ESL KABIR for her scheduled journey.
The ESL Vietnam representative stated, “The launch of the VGI service at Cai Mep, particularly at CMIT, establishes it as the sole regular liner service connecting Cai Mep with Dammam and Sohar in the Middle East, affording us a unique competitive edge. We have full confidence in CMIT, with its esteemed reputation and operational expertise, to collaborate with us in delivering the highest service quality to our valued customers”.
In a statement, CEO Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky of CMIT shared, “Cai Mep currently handles 35 weekly international services to the US, Europe, and intra-Asian markets. The introduction of this new service by ESL, KMTC, RCL, CU Lines, and GFS connecting Southeast Asia with the Middle East, with a call at CMIT, contributes to diversifying the connectivity market and providing customers with more shipping options at Cai Mep.”
