On the occasion of the 25th Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 – June 28, 2026), under the theme “Happy Families – A Prosperous Nation,” and as part of the activities marking the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union (November 25, 1996 – November 26, 2026), the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) Trade Union honored 11 outstanding workers’ families for the 2023–2025 period.

The recognition serves as a meaningful tribute to the families that have stood alongside maritime workers, providing unwavering support, encouragement, and a stable home front that enables them to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their work and to the sustainable development of both their enterprises and Vietnam’s maritime industry.

For employees in the maritime sector—particularly officers and seafarers—every voyage means extended periods away from home, facing rough seas, harsh weather conditions, and countless challenges. Behind every safe and successful voyage are spouses, parents, and children who quietly shoulder family responsibilities, offering steadfast support so that their loved ones can remain fully committed to life at sea.

Among the families recognized are couples in which both husband and wife work in the maritime industry. They understand the unique demands of the profession—shift work, extended business trips, and prolonged separations that accompany the responsibility of ensuring safe maritime operations. Their mutual understanding, empathy, and shared commitment have enabled them to overcome challenges together, preserve family happiness, and remain devoted to their profession.

Other honored families include those in which one spouse works in the maritime sector while the other pursues a career in a different field. Despite their different professions, they continue to provide understanding, encouragement, and unwavering care for their families. Through everyday acts of dedication and quiet sacrifice, they instill confidence and motivation, allowing maritime workers to remain focused on their careers and professional contributions.

What unites all 11 honored families is their shared commitment to love, unity, and responsibility in building strong and harmonious homes. They uphold positive cultural values, care for elderly parents, raise well-educated and well-rounded children, and actively participate in community and workplace initiatives. Beyond being happy families, they serve as role models of mutual support, companionship, and social responsibility.

Honoring outstanding workers’ families is not only a recognition of the often unseen contributions made by their loved ones but also reaffirms the consistent commitment of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) Trade Union: caring for employees begins with caring for their families. A happy family provides the essential foundation that enables employees to work with peace of mind, foster innovation, make meaningful contributions, and build long-term commitment to their organizations.

“Throughout our 30-year journey of growth and development, the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union has consistently regarded the well-being of union members, employees, and their families as one of its core priorities. Recognizing outstanding workers’ families not only promotes the enduring values of the Vietnamese family but also contributes to strengthening corporate culture and building a committed, responsible, and high-quality workforce.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day, the families honored today represent inspiring stories of love, sacrifice, and trust. They remind us that behind every dedicated employee is a warm and supportive home to return to, and behind every business achievement stands the quiet yet immeasurable contribution of family,” said Mai Le Loi, Chairman of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union.

The families recognized today are not only examples of happy and resilient homes but also a lasting source of inspiration for Vietnam’s maritime workforce. Their steadfast support empowers maritime professionals to remain committed to their careers, overcome the challenges of long voyages, and continue contributing to the growth of their enterprises. Through these exemplary families, the enduring values of the Vietnamese family continue to spread, fostering a united workforce, promoting sustainable business development, and reinforcing the message:

“Happy Families – A Prosperous Nation.”
