On the evening of May 30 in Hanoi, Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) was honoured at the Vietnam I4 Impact Awards 2026 – Ceremony Honouring Achievements Driving Vietnam’s Digital Transformation, receiving recognition in the Smart Industry category.
The award acknowledges VIMC’s outstanding efforts in accelerating digital transformation, fostering innovation, and integrating advanced technologies into its business operations. It also underscores the increasingly prominent role of Vietnam’s national maritime corporation in advancing the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The Vietnam I4 Impact Awards is an annual programme jointly organised by organisations and professional bodies in science, technology and digital transformation to identify and honour pioneering enterprises, organisations and individuals whose technological solutions deliver tangible value and contribute to the development of Vietnam’s digital economy.
Beginning in 2026, the programme was renamed from the I4.0 Awards to the Vietnam I4 Impact Awards, highlighting the emphasis on the real-world impact of technology on society and the economy.
This year’s programme attracted hundreds of submissions from a wide range of industries, reflecting the rapid expansion of digital transformation across Vietnam’s business community. The 2026 awards recognise organisations, enterprises and individuals that have developed technology solutions generating measurable impact on the digital economy and society.
VIMC’s recognition in the Smart Industry category comes at a time when digital transformation has become one of Vietnam’s key national strategic priorities. In particular, Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated 22 December 2024, identifies the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation as “a foremost strategic breakthrough and the primary driving force” for accelerating the development of modern productive forces, modernising governance and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW also highlights the central role of enterprises within the innovation ecosystem while encouraging the development of digital infrastructure, digital data, strategic technologies and smart manufacturing models to create new growth drivers for the country in the digital era.
In line with this national strategy, VIMC has identified digital transformation as one of the key pillars of its long-term development strategy, supporting its ambition to become Vietnam’s leading integrated maritime logistics enterprise.
In recent years, VIMC has accelerated the implementation of digital transformation initiatives across its entire organisation, covering corporate governance as well as its three core business segments: port operations, maritime shipping, and logistics. Digital platforms for data governance and business operations are being deployed in a coordinated manner across its member companies.
At the same time, VIMC is developing a smart maritime ecosystem to improve operational efficiency, optimise resource utilisation, strengthen supply chain connectivity and enhance customer service quality. This ecosystem also provides a critical foundation for advancing the Corporation’s green transition, supporting sustainable development and deepening its integration into global logistics networks.
As the global maritime industry undergoes profound transformation driven by digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, and automation, continued investment in innovation will not only strengthen VIMC’s competitiveness but also unlock new knowledge- and technology-driven growth models.
The recognition at the Vietnam I4 Impact Awards 2026 marks an important milestone in VIMC’s journey towards fulfilling the objectives set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. It also reflects the Corporation’s commitment to building a smart, modern and sustainable maritime ecosystem, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam’s digital economy and marine economy while enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the new era.
